is an awesome challenge! Guide us as we struggle within
ourselves to try and serve you with love and compassion. Open
our hearts to all we meet, and let your grace shine within us.

"Prayer for the People of Haiti:
(written by
Erik Marx of the Ottawa Valley Region on January 18, 2010)
"Dear friends ... dear
brothers and sisters: I know that your hearts have been aching
over the events in Haiti, since the earthquake on January 12th.
Let us pray …
There are not enough tears to wash away
the pain and sorrow. Our Compassionate Father, Creator of Love,
who art in Heaven, your children in Haiti are dying, suffering,
orphaned. Hallowed be Thy name, Thy Kingdom come, to Haiti, into
our hearts and into our hands! Thy will be done on Earth, for
our brothers, sisters, and little children in this devastated
land, as it is in Heaven. Let Zeal for your Kingdom burn in our
hearts, as much as our compassion for the people of Haiti. Give
them this day their daily bread, and teach us to give the very
best of ourselves. And forgive us our trespasses, in our hearts,
where fear saps our strength, and helplessness threatens our
good intentions, as we forgive those, who do not feel
compassion, or who cannot open their hearts, or understand the
pain which has ravaged this land, who trespass against us. There
are not enough tears to wash away the pain and sorrow. And lead
us not into the temptation of criticism, of finding fault with
the seeming slowness of aid reaching the most desperate. But
deliver us from the Evil of cynicism, despair, and hopelessness.
But there are still not enough tears … so prayers from broken
hearts will have to suffice. So Lord, take our tears, our
prayers, all that we can offer: bless it with Your Compassion,
with Your Plenty, and Your Love, and give it all to Your
children through the generous hands of those who have gone in
our name. Amen and Amen!"
#327 "All Praise to Thee"
Sending Forth:
Leader: Know that God is always with us as
we journey to the Cross.
All: May we help support those stumbling
to find the pathway to Christ’s salvation. May Christ’s
light shine through us for everyone to see. Amen.
Sung Response: # 807 "On Eagle’s
Wings" refrain only
